RS232
Recommended Standard 232 is a form of simple point to point serial communications. Historically used to link data terminals to mainframes it has also been used to connect people to the Internet via modem. RS232 enables a simple way to provide a control interface on electronic equipment from high-end TVs to amplifiers, DVD players and tuners to air-conditioning, lighting and many other types of system.
