DVB

Digital Video Broadcasting refers to the broadcast standard for TV stations in Europe. The DVB-T and DVB-T2 refer to UHF based transmissions for both free-to-air and pay TV. DVB-S and DVB-S2 are the digital satellite equivalent of DVB-T and DVB-T2. They are used by FreeSat, SKY and various other satellite broadcasters. Digital Audio Broadcasting is a broadcast technology used in the UK for digital radio. The UK was the first country to transmit a wide range of stations in the early 2000's. The benefit of DAB is improved sound quality in most cases and a greater choice of radio stations, particularly for rural locations. DAB also transmits additional data typically showing current radio show information or currently playing song etc.
